Background & Experience
I have 27 years of experience in the financial services industry. I began my career in 1995 as a financial consultant with Piper Jaffray in Fargo, North Dakota, where I was involved in the Great Plains Software IPO. In 1998, I moved to Edward Jones where I worked as a financial consultant and new broker trainer. Upon joining RBC Wealth Management in 2005, I was given the title of Vice President – Financial Advisor in accordance with my prior experience. I founded NorthStar Financial Group with Jon Anas in 2013 with the aim to provide the highest level of service to our clients.
I received my undergraduate degree from North Dakota State University in 1991. I hold the Series 7, 63, and 66 securities registrations and insurance license. I believe my experience, education and training make me well suited to manage my clients’ complex investment portfolios.
I recently earned the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) Professional Designation. This allows me to provide advice on a broad range of retirement topics including income needs and objectives, legacy issues and Social Security.
Away From The Office
I grew up in Hunter, North Dakota and my family farmed in the Hunter / Arthur area. My wife Stacey and I live in Fargo with our two children Cade (21) and Barron (19). I belong to Hope Lutheran Church. I have helped coach my son’s football and hockey teams. I am active in various organizations throughout the community. My interests outside of work include boating, golfing, snow skiing, and traveling as well as attending football and hockey games with friends and family.
